Colonial Chem-Dry owners Glen and Debbie Purcell, sponsored a fund raising car wash at our Route 140 location on Saturday May 11, to benefit the Nipmuc High School Honor Society.
Student volunteers washed cars while our technician Leo provided free car mat cleaning to car wash customers. We also distributed free car litter bags and free cans of Chem-Dry World Famous Spot Remover.
The event was a big success. Thank you for supporting our fundraising effort!
The technician was on time and very professional. After he measured the price was less than my estimate. He explained everything he was doing and answered all my questions. I am very happy with the service.
When it comes to upholstery cleaning in Dedham, there are a few companies that offer honest, expert advice at no cost to you. Here at Colonial Chem-Dry we know that people don’t want to replace their furniture every few years, which is why we go the extra mile to keep our clients’ furniture clean (and give them advice to maintain their upholstery in between professional services).
Here are some tips:
When you buy your furniture, be sure that it is treated for spills and dirt. Factories usually make sure that this is done but it is advisable to get additional fabric protection for your home.
We all have different lifestyles, so it is advisable to choose the right fabric for your household. This makes for easier and better maintenance of your furniture.
If you have loose cushions, change them often. This ensures equal usage of both sides and equal amount of wear and tear. Some cushions are used more often than others, so it is advisable to switch them around as well. When cleaning, fluff them up and shake off dust, this will keep them in shape and remove the top layer of dust from your cushions.
Never rub at a spill. Instead, take a clean folded towel and blot out the spill. You may find that this is enough to remove the stain, especially if your upholstered furniture is chemically treated for such things.
Vacuum your furniture at least once a week to remove embedded dust. If you use the brush on the vacuum cleaner, make sure it has soft bristles so it does not damage the fabric.
Try to position your furniture in such a way that it gets the least amount of sun because the sun can fade fabrics. It also helps to reposition the furniture from time to time.
Upholstered furniture can easily absorb odors, such as fumes from cooking and smoking. You should make sure there is proper ventilation at all times.
Have your upholstered furniture cleaned professionally on a regular basis, instead of waiting until it’s visibly dirty.
The guy, I'm so sorry I can't recall his name, who came to clean the rugs was early, efficient, pleasant, and informative. He helped me think through my options and identify the best options for my needs. And he helped me move stuff I didn't get around to moving before hand.
